Merry Christmas...a little late!

I haven't had much time to blog lately but I wanted to share a few pictures from Kate and Lily's first Christmas. First off, it snowed in Dallas Christmas Eve and it stuck for Christmas Day. The girls had a white Christmas! We made the trip to Plano Christmas Eve and had dinner and Dennis and Brenda's (Devin's Uncle and Aunt). We had a great time being with family. Devin's family came over to our house Christmas Day and we had an early dinner here and the kids opened presents. Things were a little chaotic with 3 babies but everything went really well. I'm looking forward to next year when Sloane, Kate and Lily will all be walking and playing and will also better understand this whole Christmas thing. Uncle Jeff and Aunt Jenny get to Dallas Tuesday and my parents are coming over Wednesday to do Christmas with that side. Then we're all off to Houston to see family there. Christmas isn't over yet which makes me very happy. Hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas with their families!

Opening presents...unfortunately we didn't get good pictures because Devin and I both had a baby in our hands.

Birth Announcements

I LOVE receiving birth announcements as well as Christmas cards..especially if they have pictures. So I was excited about putting together ours and conveniently made the girls birth announcement our Christmas card this year. An old friend I used to work with at Staff Care now owns her own company, Personally Perfect Designs,  and made them for us. She seriously sent over about 20 proofs. I was extremely picky and it was so sweet of her to be patient with me. The one we chose was exactly what I envisioned and I absolutely love it.

And here are some of the runner ups. I just love these sweet pictures of Kate and Lily.

I heard a rumor that 1 or 2 people didn't get their card. I'm pretty sure anyone reading this would definitely be on our list so please let me know if you didn't get one in the mail last week. Merry Christmas!

Christmas photo shoot

We went to Aunt Melissa's Saturday afternoon to take pictures of the kids in their Christmas outfits. We were hoping to get one that was good enough to give their grandparents for Christmas. It was seriously the funniest thing ever and I wish we had taken video of the event. The twins obviously can't sit up and are rolling around on the couch,  Sloane is grabbing her leg and waving it in the air and poor Grayson is sitting between all these girls just smiling. We took about 70 pictures. Seriously. And I'm really not sure if there's one where they're all looking at the camera!

Sunday afternoon we had another outing. We went to Jennifer's and had brunch with Jennifer and Catherine (our other Aunts!) We had a sausage breakfast casserole, cheese grits, crescent rolls and mimosas. YUMMM! We had such a good time and exchanged gifts. Catherine got the girls Sophie The Giraffe Teether and Jennifer got the girls their first study Bible. It's basically the Bible written in story format so children will understand. I'm thinking I'll learn a thing or two from it as well. Such sweet gifts for my sweet girls and we had such a good time. I can't wait until they have their babies so I can spoil them too!

Guess who's back???

ELLE! We are so happy to have her back in the house and very grateful that her grandparent's kept her for the last 2 months. That's a very long time to dogsit and we never intended for it to be that long (was supposed to be for 2 weeks!), but things have been so crazy with the girls. She is being so sweet to the girls and is actually alot more calm than we thought she would be. I think she might be a little sad to leave her cousin dogs, Riley and Daisy. Hopefully the babies will make up for that! I think she's still trying to figure out what they're doing in her home as well as why they have much cooler toys than she does.

We started tummy time this weekend. Kate's doing pretty well but Lily hates it.

Kate's cute tights. I left the girls with their Dad to run to the grocery store. When I got home they both had wet diapers. Their Daddy didn't know how to change them with their tights on. We had to have a tights tutorial!

Lily all bundled up for our walk. Love these cute hoodies from Aunt Linda!

Decorating for Christmas

We got our tree Sunday morning. Devin looked up what time Home Depot opened and we were the first ones there. Not because we were worried about getting the best tree, but because we brought the girls and wanted to go when no one else was around to spread germs. Paranoid much?!?! We got there at 8 am and bought the first tree Devin picked up. (By the way, there really is a better selection early in the morning.) We decorated Sunday afternoon and listened to Christmas carols. We've never put up lights outside but attempted it this year. We didn't buy enough so they are super sad. Hopefully we'll get that fixed this weekend!

Tree shopping
As you can see, Kate and Lily couldn't be less interested.

Our tree...we need more ornaments but I decided I'm not going to buy just any ornament. I've never really collected anything but I'm going to start collecting ornaments now!

Our stockings...still haven't decided which ones to get Kate and Lily. I'll make a decision soon though!

Our sign for Santa. It was $5 at Hobby Lobby!

Baby's first Christmas ornament (we have two, of course!) from Aunt Sherry. They're hand painted and hot pink. SO cute.

Our two month doctor's appointment

We went to the doctor Monday and had a really good appointment. The girls are both right on track and growing so well. They've both gained 4 pounds each! No wonder my back hurts. Here are their current stats as well as where they were at their 3 week appointment so you can compare. So glad Lily's cute little head is catching up!

Lily:
Head circumference: 38 inches (40th percentile)
Height: 21.75 inches (20th percentile)
Weight: 10 pounds 2 ounces (45th percentile)

Kate:
Head circumference: 38.5 inches (50th percentile)
Height: 22.25 inches (50th percentile)
Weight: 10 pounds 14 ounces (50th percentile)

I can't believe how much they've grown in such a short time. It's crazy to go back and look at the pictures I posted on here when they first came home. Our pediatrician said that "sleeping through the night" is technically when they can go 6 hours without a feeding. Since that's the case, they've been sleeping through the night for 4 weeks. We're very lucky and they're getting so close to making it all the way through the night. What a great Christmas present that will be.

(If you don't get the percentiles, ask me about them. Until I had babies, I never knew what mom's were talking about!)

Help me pick out Christmas stockings for Kate and Lily!!!!

I'm having a hard time deciding which stockings to order for the girls...classic, girly, unique or traditional. If you have a minute, let me know your thoughts. Thanks so much!!

Jenny, my brother's wife, did this on her blog earlier this year and I really like the stockings she picked out. They're an option as well. They're from Pottery Barn and very classic.

Let me know what you think, or if you have any other nominations. Oh, and by the way, it snowed in Dallas this morning!!!

Thanksgiving pictures

The girls got to meet lots of new family members and our Thansgiving trip to Shreveport went really well. My Honey got to feed both girls and Devin and I got some extra sleep Saturday night when Aunt Linda and my mom took care of the night feedings.

When we got back from Shreveport, the girls slept 10 hours straight...and they did it again last night. Keeping fingers crossed that this is a trend!

(Not sure why most of these pictures were taken with Lily...maybe Kate was asleep??? Sorry sweet Kate!)
