Super cute etsy stuff for babies!

I love Etsy. I wish I was talented enough to make something cute and unique to sell on this fabulous website. I admire those who are that talented. Fortunately I have many talented friends and family members that make wonderful things and access to sites like Etsy. If you've never checked it out, you must: www.etsy.com

Here are a few things that I have my eye on for the girls. I went ahead and ordered the monogrammed onesies...one for Thanksgiving and one for Christmas. I'm trying to decide if I want to splurge on the Christmas dress. And for those of us with no babies to buy for, check out all the cute jewelry. I'm a big fan of gold right now and love these two necklaces. Too bad I'm not really wearing jewelry these days. The girls are already good at grabbing things.

Today is a very special day

Not only are Kate and Lily officially one month old but Devin and I have officially been married for 3 years. In honor of these two special occasions we had family pictures taken at our house this morning. Actually it was really a photo session for the girls, but Devin and I made a few shots as well. The photographer took over 1,000 pictures and will be sending us about 150 in about two weeks. I think the odds are in our favor that we'll get a few good pictures and I can't wait. I'm excited about sending out birth announcements and will probably be asking for help in picking out what pictures to use. Back to our anniversary....Last year we spent our two year anniversary touring vineyards in Napa and Sonoma. We also spent one night in San Francisco. It was by far my favorite trip we've ever been on. This year things are a little different (okay, a lot different!) with two babies but I'm very excited about staying in and spending our anniversary with them. We're going to order a pizza and pop open our last bottle of wine that we purchased from our favorite vineyard, Peju and I can't wait!

Here are a couple of pictures Devin took on his iphone of the girls today. In the first picture the girls are wearing the sweet outfits my Aunt Linda and Aunt Sherry got them. Kate is on the left and Lily is on the right.  They were absolutely gorgeous! The dresses are so special and I'm hoping Kate and Lily have girls to pass them down to. In the second picture I'm holding Lily in her monogrammed bloomers. Look at her chubby little cheeks!

P.S. The photographer taught us a little trick this afternoon. Kate started getting fussy so he turned on my hair dryer in the room and the sound seriously made her pass out. Confession: the hair dryer is still going so that I could steal a few minutes to write this.

We're 3 weeks old today

Here are our stats from our most recent doctor's appointment:
Lily:
Head circumference: 33.4 inches (4th percentile)
Height: 19.75 inches (25th percentile)
Weight: 6 pounds 5 ounces (10th percentile)

Kate:
Head circumference: 33.9 inches (10th percentile)
Height: 20 inches (45th percentile)
Weight: 6 pounds 13 ounces (20th percentile)

These girls are eating like crazy! I'm very interested to see how much they've grown at our next appointment which isn't until 2 months. I'm guessing those percentiles will have sky rocketed. They're eating 4 ounces (half breast milk/ half formula) 8 times a day and they already seem to be wanting more. They have officially grown out of the single bassinet that we've been using. They're too big for it now and end up hitting each other and rolling over on one another. We've officially moved them from the double bassinet in our bedroom to their crib in their room. They're sharing Kate's crib for now. They prefer to sleep next to one another. No, they didn't tell us that...but it's obvious when they cry when we separate them to sleep at night. We think it's pretty sweet. They are already growing and changing so fast. I've got to start taking more pictures. Here's the last picture taken in their single bassinet. Kate is on the left and Lily is on the right. And yes, they sleep just like their mom with their arms in the air.

I love Fall!

After two long weeks of rain, we're having perfect weather in Dallas and it's supposed to stay this way throughout the weekend. Devin and I got to take the girls on their first walk. It was so nice to get outside. It had been way too long. Check out our ginormous stroller. You can definitely see us coming down the street! I have a feeling we will continue to attract a lot of attention throughout the years with the infamous double stroller. Oh,and the last picture is of Lily taking a nap. Thought it was funny!

Happy 2 week birthday!

I seriously can't believe it's already been two weeks. We had another doctor's appointment this morning and Kate and Lily are doing great and gaining weight. Kate is now up to 6 pounds 13 ounces and Lily is catching up with her at 6 pounds and 5 ounces. I have some updated pictures. Figured I would take a few since I actually had to put them in clothes to go to the doctor. We were worried that they would start to look more alike when Lily started gaining more weight and her face started filling out. Luckily this isn't the case!

Lily...both of them are getting chubby faces!

Kate and Lily are here....

Well they've been here for almost two weeks now (which is why I haven't had a chance to blog.) We are very lucky to have been blessed with such happy babies and they have been so much fun. Kate Elizabeth was 6 pounds and 7 ounces and Lily Elise was 5 pounds and 15 ounces. They've already gained back the weight they lost after coming home from the hospital and seem to be going through a growth spurt because they will not stop eating!! Everyone keeps asking us if they're identical. The only way we can know 100% is if we do a DNA test. So far Devin and I can totally tell them apart though so we think they're fraternal. I will say that I did keep their hospital bracelets on for the first few days just in case. Mixing them up has been one of my worst fears since we found out we were having twins so I'm really glad we could tell them apart right away. Here are some pictures we have so far with our newfamily and friends and I'll post more up to date ones later on this week.
